I intended to make this month's update a few
days from now, but I wanted to let everyone know of the
deaths of Billy Joe Forrest and Lon
Carter Barton. Please check back next week for more
additions to the site.
The Major
League Alumni page has been completed with as many known
big leaguers whose careers began in the Kitty League. I've
also added images of baseball cards for many of them.
A new DVD and CD set
highlighting the 2003 and 2005 Kitty League Reunions is now
available!
The following player profiles have been

page has been created with a .pdf file for the 1905 Kitty
League batting and fielding statistics.
A new link to Rex Hamman's
American Association Almanac site has been added to the Links
page, as well as one for a site on the history of minor
league baseball in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Yes, I know--everything's changed once
again!
Readers of this site know I'm fickle when
it comes to its "look." I've changed its appearance many, many
times over the years. I wanted to give the site a more vintage, nostalgic
look and less "modern" looking (if that makes sense). I hope
everyone likes it.
I'm working to get more consistent with
updates to the site this year. One reason I can do it is I no longer
publish The Bull Pen newsletter. It was a lot of fun to create, but it was
also a major undertaking every few months and took a lot of my spare time
to produce.
My goal is to have a manuscript ready in
2007 that will focus on the 1935-1955 period of the Kitty League. To find
out about my progress, please read my Research Journal.
Seasons
A major addition to the site is
a
section for Kitty League seasons. Each season will have its own page
with final standings, playoff information, batting and pitching leaders
leaders, and All-Star teams. Pages for five seasons (1935-1939) are now
online, with more to be added in the coming weeks.
Profiles
I'm now working to convert
the old player profiles to the new format.
After I add a significant number of players
and managers, I'll begin work on profiles for club and league executive
and umpires.
If there's a player such as a family member
who you'd like to see added to the site, please
send me a scanned photo (large is good) along with biographical
information such as dates of birth and death (if applicable; hopefully
not!) and places; middle name and nicknames (if any); and how they batted
and threw (left, right or both). It makes no difference whether they
played one game or 100 in the league, I'd still be very interested in them
and adding their profile to the site.
Ballparks
Ballparks
are a very interesting subject for me, but it
takes time to gather information on them. I hope to make significant
progress on this section over the next few months.
Miscellaneous
I'm still working to convert old pages to
the new site design. If you can't find a page, please check back in a few
weeks and maybe I'll have it reposted.
