This site is dedicated to the baseball career of Ken Boyer, who played 15 seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox, and Los Angeles Dodgers from 1955 to 1968.

Overshadowed by his contemporaries at third base such as Eddie Matthews, Brooks Robinson, and Ron Santo, Ken Boyer nonetheless distinguished himself with his great fielding and batting prowess over his 15-year major league career. He won five Gold Gloves and was named to the National League All-Star team seven times. The highlight of his playing career was being named the league's Most Valuable Player in 1964.

Boyer became captain of the St. Louis Cardinals in 1959, a title he held until he was traded to the New York Mets after the 1965 season. "It's the highest form of compliment a baseball player can be paid," his teammate Tim McCarver later said.

Ken Boyer at the new Busch Stadium

While he doesn't yet have a statute, Ken Boyer can be found at the Cardinals' new Busch Stadium. My family and I went on the stadium tour last weekend (if you're in St. Louis for a game or two, be sure to do this the morning or afternoon before a night game). While in the Cardinal Club (for the high rollers with the front row seats and $14,000 to spare), I found this nice photo of No. 14 at the plate.
