Kevin McCann is a third generation St. Louis Cardinals fan. As a
teenager, he and his father worked together to build complete team
sets of Cardinals baseball cards dating back to 1952. His most
prized cards are those of his father's favorite Cardinals teams, the
1964 and 1967 world champions. His favorite players from the era
include Orlando Cepeda, Roger Maris, Julian Javier, and of course
Ken Boyer.
Kevin has been a member of the Society
of American Baseball Research (SABR) since 1997. He has written
seven books related to Tennessee history and one baseball title, Jackson
Diamonds: Professional Baseball in Jackson, Tennessee, published
in 1999. He is currently researching the history of the Kitty
League, a Class D minor league that fielded teams in Kentucky,
Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Tennessee between 1903 and 1955.
In addition to this site, Kevin has created two other baseball
related sites, Kitty
League Baseball and Indy
Leagues Graveyard.
