Below is a photo sent to me by Tad Myre,
grandson of former Paducah Indians general manager Robert L.
(Bob) Myre. (Myre is the older gentleman on the left.)
The other two gentlemen could be club
president Holland Bryan and Mert Sloan, who purchased the
team from B.B. Hook after the 1936 season.
It's believed the photo was taken at
Paducah's Hook Park, but it's hard to say with certainty.
The identity of the men wearing Cleveland Indians and New
York Giants uniforms isn't known. It's possible the two
teams played an exhibition game there sometime in 1937.
At the time, the Indians had a working
agreement with the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.
If anyone can help identify the men in the
photo, please
contact me here. Thank you!
