The research involved with uncovering the colorful history of
the Kitty League is a labor of love. Like an investigator, I
enjoy finding interesting bits of information from microfilmed
newspapers that no one knew existed. The story of this Class D
league is very fascinating. I've been honored to meet the men
who played in the league and their families. They've all been
gracious to share their memories, scrapbooks, and photos with
me.
I'm not a professional researcher, so all expenses related
to my research trips come from my own pocket. Photocopies
range from .10 to .25 each, so copying the box scores for
every game in a single season can be very expensive. (Copying
box scores is necessary to compile statistics for those
seasons when none were compiled by the league.) Then of course
there's gasoline, a necessity for many of my trips.
Jon Winters and his company, Winter Systems, has kindly
donated web space for this site as well as my other baseball
site, Indy
Leagues Graveyard. Thank you, Jon!
How Can I Help?
I would be very grateful for any donations to help cover my
expenses. No amount is too small. Please contact me here for
